Great Little Device For Notes, Family Photos, and Brief Reports. March 10, 2010 BigBirdFrank (Minneapolis, MN USA) I bought my HP iPAQ 2755 in the spring of 2005. I've used it ever since to keep track of notes for my appointments, making notes on books or articles that I have read and even used it as a portable computer. I bought the portable keyboard for it and it has been a very good way for me to do writing in a tight spot. I also sync my documents to my desktop computer. It does run out of power from time to time, but I always have a recent backup available and lose very little. My doctor saw me writing in it about a week ago and asked what it was. I said it's my small portable computer and it accepts my handwriting and the screen just keeps going. If I stop taking a note and close it for a little while, I can just double tap on notes when I boot it up again and I'm back to the same note. So, I use pocket word, pocket excel, and the handwritten notes feature a lot. I also save some favorite pictures on it as well as some videos of home life. Since I have so many chronic illnesses, I can take pictures of my leg when my lymphedema is bad and show my vascular specialist how the leg has been doing right there. I'm not a power user of my iPAQ,but it has saved me from all those little paper HP iPAQ hx2755 Pocket PCnotes I used to carry around. Final point is that I'm really relieved that I did not buy a combo cell-phone and pocket PC. Cell phones change so rapidly that my iPAQ would have been obsolete at least two times by now. This has been the best little information tool I've ever bought and seldom crashes on me. I rate it a 5 after 5 years of use.
Tempermental, but worthwhile April 22, 2007 ValleyViolet (Texas USA) I have had this unit for a couple of years now and am pleased with it. I recently switch out my CF and SD cards for high speed cards and it made a significant difference in speed. Also I bought software to do maintenance, clean the registry and to find and delete temporary and unused files en masse. What a difference this made. I was getting ready to put down a couple hundred dollars on an MP3 player, but decided to try my PDA first. I am so glad I did. Idownloaded software that had more features than the media player it came with and love the sound quality, capacity and feature. I just found an 8gig high speed card and will try this out next. Over 2 years this PDA continues to improve.

After two years using this IPAQ and long experience with PDA's I can surely say that it is one of the most disappointing products I've ever bought. The 2755 has excellent features but needs time to think what to do and where to go....Imagine you are in your car and you receive an urgent call from your boss asking for a phone number, it is urgent. You open your 2755 and while you wait to get to the first screen you can tell your boss to play a complete tennis set.
I had to erase software from my handheld to make it faster. The 1 gb card didn't help much. I'm moving to an Axim and hope for better luck.
NIce - when it works December 5, 2006 Theodore Kerrn (Bloomington, IL USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Turns itself on for no reason at times -- very frustrating when you go to use it and find the battery is dead. Soft reset is something you will do regularly -- especially three to five times after synchronization. I would definitely not buy an HP handheld again at this point.
And, yes, I upgraded software, firmware, and synchronization software. Nothing changed. And, in hopes a new operating system and other upgrades would fix the problems, I let the one year warranty expire. That was a mistake. My previous Palm device was wholly reliable.

I bought one of these about six or seven months ago and liked it so well right away that I bought one for my partner a few months later. We literally live on the road at present and our iPAQs are the most essential item of all. They hold our library of ebooks, our family photo album, our music, writing, check our email, voice recorder, we keep track of dates, appointments, plane and bus reservations and a million other things. They really do it all and the wi fi capability is terrific. I covered the revolution in Nepal on my iPAQ when it was impossible to get anywhere to use the internet. I'd need a suitcase full of stuff and equipment to replace it!
